Top 10 most Exciting Cricketers Who Will be Part of PSL 2017

As the year 2017 is approaching, excitement and enthusiasm of PSL 2017 has been increasing tremendously. Now after the PSL events has been scheduled and disclosed, the next topic that is under public common discussion is players, who are going to become a part of PSL 2017 tournament. Since players in this event are not country or region specific, so there is a wide variety and flavors of players available. Here in this article, brief overview of top 10 most exciting cricketers who will be a part of PSL 2017 is provided.

 

1.  Misbah – ul – Haq

He is the current test captain of Pakistani cricket team, and former captain of ODI. A middle order batsman, who can play stable and aggressive both type of games according to match requirements. He is best known for his calmness and also most elder player and captain in the history of cricket. He has also participated in PSL first edition and he was a part of the winner team, Islamabad United. In PSL 2017 he is again playing for Islamabad United team and by seeing his previous performance, everyone is very excited and waiting to see his achievements in second edition of PSL tournament.

 

2. Shane Watson

Former Australian player and captain, Shane Watson was born in June, 1981. He played as an allrounder for his team. He made his debut against South Africa in 2002 where after three matches he was injured and was out of the team for the remaining matches. In PSL 2016, he played for Islamabad United team.  But in the last couple of matches he was out from this tournament too because of his injury. In second edition of PSL, he is again playing for his previous team that is Islamabad United.

 

3. Brad Haddin

Australian all-rounder Brad Haddin has made his debut in January 2001 against Zimbabwe. Initially he was selected as a stand by wicket keeper in the team. In September 2006, he made the record of world highest runs, while playing with the captain Mike Hussey. In 2008, when Adam Gilchrist took retirement, he also became wicket keeper for the test matches. Brad was not a part of PSL first edition. However, he is going to become a part of Islamabad United team for coming second PSL edition.

 

4. Kumar Sangakara

Former Srilankan player and captain Kumar Sangakara, who is famous for his excellent batting skills and for making a record of scoring second highest and fifth highest runs in ODI and  test matches respectively. He has been playing as a wicket keeper too for his team. After the retirement of the captain Mahela Jayawardanae, he was selected as the team captain. He did not participate in first edition of PSL. However, in PSL 2017 he is going to play for the team of Karachi Kings.

 

5. Muhammad Amir

Right arm fast / medium bowler, who has proved himself as an important part of the team at a quite young age. He is known as a most energetic player well known and widely accepted for his successful bowling skills. In most of the matches, Muhammad Amir bowling has proved as a game changer and a very strong assistance for his team. In August 2009, allegations of spot fixing were imposped on him and he got ban for 5 years. Wasim Akram and Ramee Raja have acknowledged him as the brightest star of cricket team. In PSL 2017, he is going to play for Karachi Kings team.

 

6. Mahela Jayawardene

He is former Srilankan cricketer and captain of national cricket team. His best score is 374 against South Africa and it is cosidered highest score in the test match. He made his debut in one day international and test match in 1997. He is among those Srilankan cricketers, who scored 10,000 runs in one day international matches. In February he played 600th match, and became second cricketer for this record after Tendulakar. In PSL 2017, he is going to represent Karachi Kings. Hoever, in 2016 he was not a part of PSL first tournament.

 

7. Shahid Afridi

He is former player and captain of Pakistan cricket team. Well known for his speedy style, he came first into notice when he made fastest century in one day international within 37 balls in the year 1997. He is also the highest wicket takers in T20 international. In May 2010, he got elected as a captain of Pakistan cricket team for all three formats i.e. one day international, test match and T20 international. In first edition of Pakistan Super League, he represented Peshawar Zalmi and in the second edition of Pakistan Super League he is again goint to represent his Peshawar Zalmi team.

 

8. Shakib Al Hasan

Playing for Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan is the only cricketer who has been awarded by the ICC in all three game formats (one day international, test match and T20 international). He also remained as a captain of his team. His career started from his domestic cricket and when he entered international cricket he became more expert and proved himself through his outstanding performances. In second edition of Pakistan Super League he will represent Peshawar Zalmi team.

 

9. Umar Gul

Umar gul is the right arm fast/medium bowler who has been representing Pakistan in all three formats. His debut match was against Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Kenya in 2003. He was the leading wicket taker in T20 of 2007 and 2009. He is the largest wicket taker after Saeed Ajmal. In 2013, he won the ICC performance award. In the second edition of Pakistan Super League, just like last year he is going to represent his Quetta Gladiators team.

 

10. Kevin Pietersen

Kevin Pietersen is an English batsman, who is well known as a spinner in the cricket world. Originally he belongs to South Africa, and after getting disheart from racial quota system in South Africa, he moved to England. Due to his relationship with English ancestors, he got selected for the national team. He made his one day international debut in 2004 against Zimbabwe and test match debut in 2005. He was also elected as captain for one day international and test match, but his captaincy didn’t go well for him. Just after playing some one day international and test matches, he resigned because of his dispute with the coach of national team. In the second edition of the PSL, he is going to represent Quetta Gladiators. He has also represented Quetta Gladiators in the first edition of PSL.
